Photograph album containing carte de visite portraits of members of the Bergman family of Portland, Or., taken circa 1863-1887. The Bergmans were Jews who emigrated to Portland from Bavaria in the mid-nineteenth century. Subjects include Ida Bergman and her father, Joseph Bergman, as well as other members of the Bergman, Baum, Rettman, and Lettermann families. Many of the photographs are unidentified. Photographers include Joseph Buchtel, Gilman L. Eastman, Denny H. Hendee, and Buchtel & Cardwell's, all of Portland, Or., as well as Jacob Shew of San Francisco, Calif.
